My First Tag

Who Do You Love? Jon (He's my best friend and the love of my life)

How Long Have You Been Married? 8 years in June, I can't believe it has been that long

Who Said I Love You First? Jon, in his black truck up Provo Canyon

How Long Did You Date? Four months, but then we were engaged for just over a year (I would never recommend it)

Where Did He Propose? Up American Fork Canyon in the snow. Brrrrrr

Who Is Taller? Jon

Who Is Smarter? I would say we are both smart. We just have different smarts. I'm better with English, Math etc, but he can put a car together and I would have no clue where to even start. And Jon is constantly learning. I think our smarts complement each other so well.

Who Does The Laundry? We both do and I can even get Jon to help put it away

Who Pays The Bills? Me

Who Mows The Lawn? We both do, however last year I ended up doing it the most

Who Cooks Dinner? I do most of it but Jon does help out and if we cook something fancy he does the cooking. People think that I must have it easy with Jon's culinary background but honestly I can't afford to have him cook what he would like. It does come in handy when I need to chop anything like vegetables. He just can't watch me cut anything - apparently I do it all wrong. Which is fine by me.

Who Drives? Jon

Who do I tag?? Amber, Tiffany, Jen

Trilobites

Recently we went out Trilobite hunting. It took us about three hours to get to our location but once we got there and settled in with the rocks we were finding them left and right. It's amazing to think of how many years and years these little guys have been preserved in the rock. It was a fun day and nice to get away - even if it was for only a day.

Our first trilobite and probably one of the best finds of the day

Boooo Snow ..... and smoke detectors.

Here it is the second week of April and we just can't seem to get out of snow mode. I woke up this morning to a snow covered yard. I am so sick of snow and cold. The weathermen tell us we can expect warmer weather this next week. I hope so, I want to get some flowers planted.

So the other night I am happily asleep in my bed when I am awakened to Jon letting out a sigh and muttering under his breath. He gets out of bed and goes out into the hall and then nothing. He's not a sleepwalker so I'm thinking what on earth is he doing out there. Then I hear it. That sound that only seems to go off in the middle of the night. The blasted chirping sound of a smoke detector battery dying. I hate that sound. I swear they are wired so the batteries only die in the middle of the night. Well needless to say it is now taken care of - it is sitting out in our garage. I guess we showed that smoke detector.

Armenia Here He Comes

Last night my nephew Kyle received his mission call to the Armenia Yerevan mission. As a family our reaction was all the same - What? Where is Armenia? We knew it was in Europe but that's about it. Now we are all able to point out Armenia on a map. It was fun to be there when he opened his call and share in his excitement (as you can see on his face). We will miss him while he is serving the Lord but we know that he will make an awesome missionary and touch many lives. GOOD LUCK KYLE!!!

Oh what do you do in the wintertime?

I don't know what you do in the winter time but this is what we did this winter. We have spent several Saturday nights out in the west desert playing in the snow. Wheeling in the snow is a little different and slow going, but as long as the heater works I don't mind.

Here is a picture of our friend Zach climbing the snow / ice covered rocks.

This is our friend John playing on the rocks with Zach watching.

Wes attemping the climb Zach just did.

And here is Jon, ever so happy to have his picture taken.

A few weeks ago we woke up on Sunday to 7" of snow. I didn't think we would ever get all the snow off the driveway. We were running out of places to put it. How quickly things have changed since then. Our snow is almost gone and today I noticed my bulbs are coming up - a sure sign that spring is on its way. I just hope we are done with the snow. I am ready for summer and warmth.

A New Home..... Hopefully!

In the last few years I have been looking at real estate as Jon and I have always wanted something with a bit more land than we have now. Last fall I really started looking for a house. Well I found a home that sits on 1/2 acre and I kept my eye on it. The price kept going down till it finally landed in our price range. This past week we put an offer on it and after much negotiating we learned yesterday that they accepted our offer. Now all we have to do is get our current home sold. Keep your fingers crossed. Below are some pictures of the new home.

A view of the backyard

A nice covered patio for BBQ's in the summer

View of the kitchen - which we will eventually have to remodel

The family room downstairs. Needs some work done.
