Oh what do you do in the wintertime?

I don't know what you do in the winter time but this is what we did this winter. We have spent several Saturday nights out in the west desert playing in the snow. Wheeling in the snow is a little different and slow going, but as long as the heater works I don't mind.

Here is a picture of our friend Zach climbing the snow / ice covered rocks.

This is our friend John playing on the rocks with Zach watching.

Wes attemping the climb Zach just did.

And here is Jon, ever so happy to have his picture taken.

A few weeks ago we woke up on Sunday to 7" of snow. I didn't think we would ever get all the snow off the driveway. We were running out of places to put it. How quickly things have changed since then. Our snow is almost gone and today I noticed my bulbs are coming up - a sure sign that spring is on its way. I just hope we are done with the snow. I am ready for summer and warmth.

A New Home..... Hopefully!

In the last few years I have been looking at real estate as Jon and I have always wanted something with a bit more land than we have now. Last fall I really started looking for a house. Well I found a home that sits on 1/2 acre and I kept my eye on it. The price kept going down till it finally landed in our price range. This past week we put an offer on it and after much negotiating we learned yesterday that they accepted our offer. Now all we have to do is get our current home sold. Keep your fingers crossed. Below are some pictures of the new home.

The front of the house hidden by trees

A view of the backyard

A nice covered patio for BBQ's in the summer

View of the kitchen - which we will eventually have to remodel

The family room downstairs. Needs some work done.

Old Blue

So here is a picture of Old Blue. This was our Thanksgiving trip to Grand Junction in 2006. If you ask Jon you just can't go wheeling with the top on (unless it's super cold) so the top is usually off. We have since added a full roll cage to the back. We have a roll cage up front but you can't see it because it's on the inside.

And here is Old Blue in action - I think this is 21 Road. I have gotten better about staying in the vehicle on the scary stuff. It's just easier sometimes to stay inside than get in and out and in and out.

On Board

So I've finally joined the bandwagon and have started blogging. Now hopefully I will be diligent about posting. Here is our lastest update.

Jon is currently as an RV Technician. He loves what he does, but hates the politics of the job. But then again, every job has politics that go with it. Besides me, Jon's ultimate love is rock crawling in his 4-Runner (I have to admit that I like it to). He has spent many hours (and $$$) on getting the 4-Runner (Old Blue) just right. Everytime I think were almost done working on Old Blue there is something else to buy or something goes bad. I don't think we will ever be done working on it. Some of our greatest memories are out on the trail with friends and family.

I am working for a General Contractor as the Accounts Payable Clerk. I love my job and my boss is the best. I have been there for three years now and don't have any plans on leaving. Last January the company sent Jon and I on a cruise and I have to say that is the best way to vacation. One of my new hobbies is fishing. I never wanted to try fishing because it looked boring, but Jon got me to try it and now it is something that we both enjoy together. It is nice to live in a place that has so many lakes nearby.

We would love to hear from you so send us a line.
